Each season presents new ways to decorate and style your home. It’s important to focus not only on the inside of your home, but also your outdoor space! Being outside and getting fresh air is key to our wellbeing and health, so creating an environment in your backyard or on your porch that inspires and invites you is essential.
Here are some tips to help you create the dream outdoor atmosphere this year.
With the days getting darker and shorter, re-thinking the lighting in your outdoor space is key. Lighting sets the entire vibe of a space. For outside, hanging lights create such a cozy atmosphere, and allow for friends and family to be able to stay outside longer into the evening.
DECORATE WITH FALL DECOR
Nothing goes with the crispy fall nights better than chunky knit throws. You can keep a container or basket outside so they stay clear of bad weather and they are easily accessible. Also, add some lanterns! Chic lanterns can add an elevated look to your outdoor space, and once summer comes back around, you can always pull them inside for decor by your mantle.
UTILIZE DECORATIVE PILLOWS
Decorative pillows are an easy and affordable way to change the style of your outdoor space seasonally. Fall calls for pops of color, simple shapes, and warmer textures. Changing out the pillows will immediately move your space from season to season.
FOCUS ON THE FIRE PIT
I think we can all agree the best conversations, laughter, and s’mores happen around the backyard firepit. Make your fire pit, whether big or small, the focal point of your outdoor space. For the colder months, the main gathering spot will be around the fire, so make it as cozy and comfortable as possible!
FILL UP YOUR PLANTERS
Just because it’s colder outside doesn’t mean you can’t have plants in your backyard! Choose greenery that can withstand the cold to maintain that pop of color and life. Try some Cedar Bush or Blue Spruce!
We hope you’ll be able to use some of these tips to make your space all you want it to be this fall.
